Robert B. Whittlesey

For nearly 40 years, Bob has helped May Institute navigate its way. When Bob first joined the Board of Trustees, the organization consisted of one school for children with autism. He partnered with and supported the organization as it expanded in order to serve communities most in need; those decisions over the years resulted in a national organization with tremendous breadth and depth.

As a leader and lifelong advocate in the development and management of low- and moderate-income housing, Bob has devoted the last 60 years of his life to improving the lives of individuals and communities.

In 2014, as May Institute prepared for its 60th anniversary, Bob was honored for his outstanding service as he retired from the Board of Trustees. Ever a passionate advocate for our work, he is committed to deepening and expanding our ties to the community, and to supporting philanthropic endeavors to strengthen the organization as it begins its next chapter.
