Wellfleet, Mass., Resident Receives May Institute's Prestigious Trustees' Fund Award

Randolph, Mass. – May Institute announces that Jose Sanchez, Senior Program Specialist at the Day Habilitation Program of the May Center for Adult Services in Mashpee, has received May Institute’s prestigious Trustees’ Fund Award for outstanding employee performance by a member of its staff. Nominations are made by peers and supervisors, and award winners are chosen by the Institute’s Board of Trustees. Recipients of the 2011 awards were recently honored at a ceremony held at May Institute’s corporate office in Randolph, Mass.

May Institute is an award-winning, national nonprofit organization that provides educational, rehabilitative, and behavioral healthcare services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, brain injury, mental illness, and behavioral health needs. The Institute employs more than 2,000 staff across the country.

May Institute’s Board of Trustees created the Trustees’ Fund Award – the highest honor given to an employee by the organization – in 1993 to recognize the exceptional contributions of staff members who epitomize the organization’s ideals of service and professionalism.

“Jose has a natural gift for providing a safe and nurturing environment for all the individuals he serves,” said Walter P. Christian, Ph.D., ABBP, ABPP, President of May Institute. “I am both humbled and grateful for the opportunity to honor such a dedicated and selfless professional.”

Sanchez is credited for being an exceptional role model for many within the organization. He began his career with May Institute in 1996 as a Child Development Specialist. He is a resident of Wellfleet.
