May Institute Among Top Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts

11/15/16

Randolph, Mass. —May Institute, a national nonprofit provider of services for children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other special needs, has been named number 26 in The Commonwealth Institute’s (TCI) 2016 list of Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts.

TCI is a non-profit organization devoted to advancing businesswomen in leadership positions in Massachusetts. Its annual Top 100 list celebrates successful for-profit and nonprofit businesses that have made a significant impact on the Commonwealth’s economy – and the women who lead them. This year marks the 15th year of this tradition.

“This selection comes at a dynamic time in our organization's 60-year history, when we are making tremendous strides in the services we provide and the communities we impact,” said May Institute President and CEO Lauren C. Solotar, Ph.D., ABPP. “Leading an organization of this size and scope requires a talented and dedicated management team and board, and an exceptional workforce. Every day they bring our mission to life.”

Winners were honored at a celebratory breakfast held on October 28th at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. The names of the winning organizations and their leaders were published in the Boston Globe Magazine on October 30th.

According to the Globe article, “The innovative leaders at the helm of these companies and nonprofits – in fields as diverse as health care and high-tech, finance and education– all share a common trait: They’re defining the future of the state’s economy. The amount of combined revenue generated in 2015 by the top 100 organizations was $70.5 billion.”

“We are so fortunate that Lauren is at the helm of this organization,” said Debra Blair, May Institute’s Chief Financial Officer. “She is keenly focused on making good decisions at every step of the way in order to continually strengthen May Institute. Lauren skillfully manages the day-to-day complexities of the organization while keeping an eye to future. She never loses sight of who we serve and what we do.”
