Randolph, Mass. — Richard Wichmann, a healthcare executive in the greater Boston area, has been named Chairperson of the Board of Directors of May Institute. Mr. Wichmann succeeds Neal Todrys who stepped down as Chairperson in December after serving his three-year term.
Mr. Wichmann has over 40 years of progressive experience in healthcare finance and financial strategy, mergers and joint ventures, managed care, Medicare and Medicaid payment systems, patient services, financial forecasting and modeling, and organizational development.

He is also an experienced finance consultant and worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for more than 22 years, as well as independently. Among his responsibilities at PwC, he headed a national practice focused on provider managed care and governmental finance.
Mr. Wichmann earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cleveland University and holds an MBA in Finance from Questrom School of Business, Boston University.
“During his nearly 20-year tenure on May’s Board of Directors, Rick has provided us with invaluable insights, unwavering support, and strong leadership,” says Lauren C. Prior to becoming Chairperson, Mr. Wichmann served on the Board’s Executive, Finance, Membership, and Philanthropy committees. He is joined at the leadership level by Board of Directors members Nancy Nager, the new Vice Chairperson and Assistant Treasurer; and Q. Sophie Yang, who serves as the Board’s new Secretary.
