Words of Thanks from One Parent

The families of May Center students often have challenging and hectic days. We are grateful when they can take the time to share their stories about how May is impacting their lives. This note came with the family's donation to May Institute.

"Thank you very much for all of your dedication and hard work with our son.

This week will mark one year that he has been at May. Even though transitioning him to a residential program has been one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make, we can see by the progress that he has made in a year, that it has most definitely been the right one...

His progress using an iPad for communication has been astounding! For example, my husband was driving him home from school about a month ago. Why my son began to make sounds of frustration, my husband handed him the iPad. All of a sudden, my husband heard, “I want to eat pepperoni pizza!” It was an amazing moment! For the first time, we were able to find out the reason behind our son’s frustration!

We will forever be grateful to May Institute – thank you so much!"
