A great deal of time and effort went into this year’s Summer Swing Golf Tournament and Family Outing, and May Institute couldn’t have done it without the help of some key players. Shawn Parker, Program Coordinator at Revere, donated his time to serve as Chairman of the golf planning committee and host the awards ceremony. Other members of the golf planning committee included Amy Bianchi, Kate Fontana, Michelle Graham, Megan Lopes, Michele Marsden, Shira Moffatt, Mike Sobezenski, Jim Sperry, and Karyn Vostok. Without them, this event would not be a success.
Many companies and organizations also helped make the event possible. We would like to thank our fairway sponsor for the past five years, Kalandavis. This year’s tee sponsors also included Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy, Crestview Function and Meeting Facilities, Seaside Pub on Main, Tedeschis Food Mart, Will Everett Custom Homes and Design, Best Clinical Network, House of Blues, North Shore Navigators, and JCSI.
All money raised by the golf tournament will go to May Institute’s Adult Programs in the New England region. These programs provide day services, employment training, and residential services to adults with autism and other developmental and behavioral disabilities.
Thanks to the generosity of our tournament supporters, the individuals we serve will have opportunities to participate in sporting events, dances, Special Olympic competitions, and other events that build self-esteem and a sense of belonging.
We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you all next year! The 2011 date has already been set. Mark your calendars for Monday, July 18, 2011 at Glen Ellen Country Club in Millis, Mass.
