SwAMP Camp at May Center in Randolph, Mass.

08/31/17

SwAMP Camp was created with two goals in mind. First, to allow our students the opportunity to participate in a summer camp like their siblings and peers; to create an experience where May Center students reap the social benefits of meeting new friends, trying new things, and playing new games while having fun and still being supported.

Second, the teachers wanted to inject the curriculum with more science, technology, arts, and math. This lead to discussions about hands-on projects to encourage learning and exploration – projects like catapults and experiments like Mentos in soda, and the how and why it explodes!

Thank you to our friends at Hingham Lumber Company for their support of the Randolph May Center School SwAMP Camp. The company donated supplies for building catapults, rockets, and more to help make this year a success with more than 30 students taking part.
