Our first Pride@May

Our first Pride@May event took place in June, led by the newest Employee Resource Group subcommittee of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council at May Institute. People from across the organization attended, including President and CEO Dr. Lauren Solotar. Employees Steven Cristoforo-Cox and Meghan Elliott gave a great presentation on the history of Pride and defining LGBTQIA+ terms.

The group discussed a number of topics including pronouns, allyship, pride events across the U.S., and available resources. Prior to the event, they also distributed HUNDREDS of small Pride@May gifts across May Institute to spread the word about Pride Month, including stickers and bags of Skittles with Pride@May labels on them. June is over, but the work of raising awareness and building connections continues!
