May's 16th Annual PBIS Forum Goes Virtual!

11/11/20

On November 13th, 2020, the May Institute’s 16th Annual New England Positive Behavioral Support Forum went virtual. Like so many conferences, the pandemic made us re-think the ‘how’ but not the ‘why’ of presenting the newest research and practices to our PBIS community. With little time to convert to an on-line format, staff throughout our agency came together to act as session proctors to help with chat boxes, breakout rooms and ensuring BCBA’s and Psychologists received their continuing education credits. It was indeed a group effort.

Over 150 attendees came from beyond the New England area, including attendees from Georgia, Illinois, Colorado, and even the United Kingdom. The forum offered two enthralling keynote talks by Kent McIntosh and Susan Barrett, of which one attendee stated, “I truly enjoyed both keynote addresses, I felt they were both applicable to current events and my specific focus area.”  Also, participants were offered 14 different session topics to choose from for a full day of learning and networking.  Again, in the words of one respondent, “Lots of strategies, tools, resources, and examples that can be implemented in the public-school setting. Also, the breakout sessions where we could talk with presenters and other attendees was really cool!”  We are very proud that we could keep the high-quality conference our participants have come to expect.

Please join us at our next NEPBS Forum on November 18th & 19th, 2021.  Whether we are in person or virtual, you are sure to benefit from our professional, practical, and welcoming event!
