Massachusetts Nonprofit Network - 2016 Nonprofit Awareness Day

06/28/16

Congratulations to May Institute President and CEO Lauren Solotar, Ph.D., ABPP, who was honored as one of five finalists in the Excellence in Leadership category during Massachusetts Nonprofit Network’s (MNN) 2016 Nonprofit Awareness Day on June 27.

A panel of judges reviewed over 200 nominations to determine the 30 finalists in the categories of Advocacy, Collaboration, Communication, Innovation, Leadership, Small Nonprofit, and Young Professional.

The finalists ranged from large youth organizations to small environmental agencies, according to MNN. “These organizations and professionals epitomize not just the blood, sweat, and tears that are poured into nonprofits, but also the innovative, creative and effective work being done in every region and subsector of the state,” said Jim Klocke, MNN CEO. “We are delighted to shine a light on these impressive finalists, and on the 33,000 nonprofits and more than half a million nonprofit employees that provide invaluable services across Massachusetts.”

House Speaker Robert DeLeo, Senate President Stan Rosenberg, and Secretary of Education Jim Peyser joined hundreds of nonprofit and business leaders and elected officials to acknowledge and celebrate these outstanding representatives of Massachusetts’ nonprofit sector at the event.
