Big Congratulations to Two Nurses!

06/24/20

We are celebrating two of our nurses who have advanced their careers through education - we are so proud of them!

Congratulations to Sarah Smith for earning her Doctorate in Nursing Practice!

Sarah has worked as a Registered Nurse at the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Randolph since 2017, providing nursing care to students at the school and in the residences. She earned a Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Her doctoral project was titled, A Healthcare Delivery Analysis of College Student Health Centers: Addressing Sexual Health and Sexually Transmitted Infection Prevention.

“I enjoy being the triage nurse and developing relationships with the students at school,” Sarah said. “I love teaching and working with students to become more comfortable during assessments, vitals, medication administration, and medical appointments. I hope to continue to work with the adolescent population on health promotion and education.

“I am so thankful to all the students and my coworkers (and Harlow, my dog, pictured here) for always making me laugh during this long program.”

So awesome, Sarah!

Jennifer Oung has been a nurse at the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Randolph for more than two years. She recently earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Regis College, and is now a Family Nurse Practitioner.

“I have enjoyed working with my colleagues and staffs in caring for the children at the school,” Jennifer said. “I am proud to be a May Nurse”!

Congratulations, Jennifer!
