2022 SFASA-Stanford Adult Autism/DD Conference

11/18/22

A Day at Stanford Medical: Jim Toohey, The Bay School (TBS) Coordinator of Vocational Services, and Laura Noland, TBS Director of Community Engagement and Development, joined David Grady from the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities in presenting at the recent 2022 SFASA-Stanford Adult Autism/DD Conference.

Sponsored by the Autism Society of San Francisco Bay Area and Stanford Autism Center, the conference focused on financial planning, housing, adult day programs, medical care, employment, and many other critical topics impacting the lives of adults with autism and developmental disabilities.

Mr. Toohey and Ms. Noland presented information about customized employment and provided practical tips for job development, training, and ongoing growth. Mr. Grady discussed additional creative employment options, including invoiced-based employment, and how to access increased levels of support through existing service models in California.

We hope this presentation offered families and providers valuable insights on how to achieve successful competitive, integrated employment. Thanks to all who attended!
