Parent Training: Increasing Positive Interactions with Your Child

Part of a special speaker series sponsored by May Institute, in partnership with the Hockomock Area YMCA

This FREE event is part of a speaker series open to any families interested in attending. It is designed based on feedback from Hockomock Area parents about what topics would be most useful. It will take place at the Hockomock Area YMCA in Franklin, Mass. Special thanks to the YMCA for partnering with us on these events.

Presenter: Carla Correia, M.A., May Institute

Description: Do you often find yourself arguing with your child? Do you wish you could spend more time just having fun with your child? Then make sure not to miss this workshop where you will learn specific strategies to use with your child. Our presenter Carla Correia is a therapist who specializes in improving parent-child relationships and increasing child compliance.

Topics include:
— how to improve communication with your child
— how and when to praise your child to increase their positive behavior
— how to regularly schedule special activities to enhance relationship quality

Time: Presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. A typical evening will include a one-hour presentation, 30 minutes for questions and answers with the speaker, and 30 minutes for networking opportunities.
