Missy Worrell, RN
School Nurse, May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, Chicopee, Mass.


Missy became the School Nurse for the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Chicopee, Mass., in September 2022. Before that, she was the School Nurse for the May Center School in West Springfield, Mass. Prior to joining May Institute, Missy worked as a float nurse at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.

Her current responsibilities include providing healthcare to students for acute and chronic illnesses and injury; educating staff to manage emergency situations; collaborating with both medical and educational staff to ensure compliance to the most up-to-date healthcare policies and procedures; and maintaining healthcare records. 

Missy received an associate’s degree in Nursing from Springfield Technical Community College in 2015. She is currently working on a bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Mass. She is also certified by the American Heart Association as a Basic Life Support provider.

As the mother of a teenage son with autism, Missy has a strong interest in helping children on the spectrum lead the healthiest and happiest lives possible.
