Lynn Demers, RN, BSN
Director of Healthcare Services, Western Massachusetts Adult Services Division


Lynn joined May Institute in 1997 as a nurse consultant for the Western Massachusetts Adult Services Division. In 1999, she was hired full-time to work in both the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts Adult Services Divisions.

In her current role as Director of Healthcare Services, she oversees 14 group homes and three supportive living programs throughout the Western Massachusetts area. In this capacity, she provides trainings and educational opportunities to improve and enhance the healthcare needs of the individuals we serve. Lynn also provides case management and often serves as a liaison for the programs and other service providers.

Lynn began her career in human services in 1979 as an art aid transitioning individuals from Belchertown State School and Monson Developmental Center. She became fluent in American Sign Language and a First AID/CPR Instructor for the Red Cross.   

Through the years, Lynn worked as direct care for overnights, group home manager, day services director, and director of training. She also volunteered on a Human Rights Committee for Microtek (a work program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities). Over the 22 years she served on the committee, she was the chairperson for five years.   

Lynn became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1997 after graduating from Our Lady of the Elms where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
