School Nurse, May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, West Springfield, Mass.

Kimberle became the School Nurse at the May Institute Center School in West Springfield in February 2024. Her current responsibilities include providing healthcare to students for acute and chronic illnesses and injury; educating staff to manage emergency situations; collaborating with both medical and educational staff to ensure compliance to the most up-to-date healthcare policies and procedures; and maintaining healthcare records.

She earned her associate degree in Nursing from Indian River State College, in Fort Pierce, Fla. As a new Registered Nurse (RN), she completed an accredited Nurse Residency program through Baystate Medical Center, in the Pediatric Emergency Department. In her first year of nursing, Kimberle earned her Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certificates.

Kimberle is passionate about treating pediatric patients and their families. After receiving her Early Childhood Education Certificate in 2009, teaching preschool, working with youth programs, and working in a group home for refugee teenage boys, Kimberle knew she wanted to work with children, youth, and their families. She found her calling in pediatric nursing and discovered a special fondness for working with patients with mental health and behavioral health needs. So, when the opportunity to work as a School Nurse at the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in West Springfield came up, it was an obvious choice for Kimberle. She aspires to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to further her career.
