Albertina Lopes
Vice President of Healthcare Systems


Albertina Lopes serves as the Vice President of Healthcare Systems for May Institute. She is responsible for overseeing healthcare systems and ensuring continuity of healthcare services at May Institute. Dr. Lopes provides leadership and guidance regarding healthcare in collaboration with each program's healthcare staff and management team across the organization. 

With 20 years of experience in Human Services, Dr. Lopes has served at May Institute in various capacities, starting as a direct care staff at the May Center School for Brain Injury and Neurobehavioral Disorders, as a Senior Training Specialist, and most recently as Senior Director of Safety, Risk Management, and Healthcare Systems. She has also served as the Chair or Co-Chair of the May's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council and as Safety Officer. 

Prior to joining May Institute, Dr. Lopes worked in the fields of healthcare and education domestically and abroad. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a doctorate in Medicine.
