Meeting Dr. Temple Grandin

Our staff recently had the wonderful opportunity to meet renowned author and speaker, Dr. Temple Grandin, in New Bedford, Mass., at her presentation of “Living with Autism.” She spoke about re-framing the way we think about autism and the best ways to help children with autism, including focusing on their strengths.

Dr. Grandin’s ground-breaking achievements in livestock handling and facility design are attributed to her unique visual way of processing information. By focusing on her strengths, Dr. Grandin pioneered a new way of understanding and caring for livestock. The methods she developed have been implemented by companies across the country.
