Coping with Loss

Not everything always goes as planned, but even the unplanned can be a teaching moment. Mariah Bishop, Classroom Teacher at our May Center School in West Springfield, Mass., recounts a recent loss.

"We had a tadpole in classroom 7 for a science talk about the process that a tadpole goes through to develop into a frog. Unfortunately, Mr. Tadpole did not make it over the weekend. I spoke with the students involved with him, and they wanted to build a memorial. Here is our lovely memorial to honor its life and our loss. It was beautiful to see the students come together, feel and process this together." #TadpoleHeaven
