Part of what sets us apart from other organizations is our uncompromising commitment to professionalism and excellence. Our work is grounded in evidence-based practice, and we continually review and measure our results.
All of May Institute's programs are based on applied behavior analysis (ABA), which has been identified by hundreds of scientific studies as the most effective method to teach individuals with autism and other special needs. We have one of the largest concentrations of behavior analysts in the country.
Our values and vision drive us to understand each person's unique needs and find effective means to help each individual reach his or her potential and live independently.
“It takes more than patience, more than knowledge, more than good will, more than excellence of stamina, more than a sunny disposition, more than education. It takes a total and complete involvement with the child while you are with the child, it takes a special sensitivity to the needs of others, it takes an extraordinary kind of imagination, and it takes much love.”
— May Institute Founders, Dr. Jacques & Marie Anne May
“Children and youths with ASD throughout the world receive better treatment outcomes in some part because of the leadership and research demonstrated by May Institute.”
