Mimi Theodore, J.D., Ph.D., BCBA, LBA
Senior Clinical Director, May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, Randolph, Mass.


Dr. Theodore received both her master’s degree and doctorate degree from Endicott College under the advisement of Dr. Mary Jane Weiss and Dr. Jill Harper. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at May Institute’s Randolph School Campus. 

At the May Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Randolph, Dr. Theodore oversees clinical programming in behavior analytic and educational interventions for students ages 14-22 years who have transitioned to the Todd Fournier Center for Employment Training and Community Inclusion. Dr. Theodore leads a highly skilled team of teachers and clinicians in the development of students’ work skills to help them progress towards meaningful employment while at the May Center and beyond. 
 
Dr. Theodore started her career in applied behavior analysis (ABA) as a Teacher Assistant in the May Center’s Intensive Behavior Core. She later transitioned to a Behavior Specialist in Core C prior to moving to Baltimore, Md., to work on the Neurobehavioral Unit at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. At Kennedy Krieger, her primary focus was on the assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior. Dr. Theodore then went on to become a Clinical Director for an in-home company in Maryland serving low-income families. 

Prior to becoming a Behavior Analyst, Dr. Theodore received her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from New England Law Boston where she primarily focused on special education law and mediation. 

Dr. Theodore is currently an adjunct faculty member at Endicott College and teaches group supervision for current May Institute employees in ABA master’s programs.  

Her research interests include: the assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior, promoting tolerance to delays to reinforcement, trauma-informed practices in ABA, skills-based treatment, and the generalization of behavior and skills across environments.
