The Employee Recognition & Appreciation committee congratulates Nicole Bussiere for being selected for an Employee Spotlight Award in the Autumn of 2023! The award recognizes the exceptional contributions of May employees. Winners are nominated by their colleagues, managers, and supervisors from across the organization.
Nomination:
Nicole's ability to operationally review processes with the programs and delve into systems is phenomenal. This skill serves her well in the review of new regulations and the development of new tools, forms, or an audit process for an area of need. Divisions ask her to review and audit areas they are concerned about! She has been able to focus on our compliance activities and has completed a significant number of audits, monitoring, and background reviews. In working with the IT department, she has been able to streamline auditing processes and provide more compliance data during audits. She has also taken over the role of Safety Officer and created a new, robust Continuity of operations plan with clearly documented business process analysis and business impact analysis for the organization and service modalities. Her attention to detail and ability to interact with all levels of the organization has been instrumental in her success.

I feel deeply that it is me who owes the debt of gratitude to May Institute for all of the wonderful opportunities, experiences, and relationships it has gifted me over my almost 20 years with the organization. Through the years I have felt so privileged to bear witness to the absolute pure love given and received between individuals, employees/co-workers, families, and communities served. It’s wonderfully fulfilling to know that I’m a small part of something so big – something that has a true positive impact in the world and specifically in the lives of individuals with special needs and their families, as well as on the amazingly talented and dedicated employees that serve them.
