The Employee Recognition & Appreciation committee congratulates Brandie Rankin for being selected for an Employee Spotlight Award in the Autumn of 2023! The award recognizes the exceptional contributions of May employees. Winners are nominated by their colleagues, managers, and supervisors from across the organization.

Nomination:

It is with great honor that we nominate Brandie for the Employee Spotlight Award. As a veteran employee of The Bay School (TBS), Brandie has filled many important roles since joining the team in 2011. She started as an Instructor and continued her education and training, pursuing her special education teaching credential and Masters in Education, and became a Teacher in 2015. In 2021, she obtained her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and was promoted to her current position as Behavior Analyst.

Over several months, Brandie stepped in to support two additional classrooms while we’ve been short a Behavior Analyst at our site. During this time period, she helped onboard many news students and transitioned every single one in a thoughtful, systematic way. She has helped train and support new staff and has become one of the leaders in our school’s Applied Verbal Behavior (AVB) conversation. Brandie has also played an essential role in our Central Reach (CR) roll-out, leading a team of senior staff in completing a school-wide CR manual, and she continues to problem-solve and oversee our school’s use of this platform for data collection and graphing.

Brandie attends to important details and pursues high quality of work. She is highly skilled as both an educator, clinician, mentor, and leader. Brandie is very reliable and has rarely had any unplanned absences from work during her tenure at TBS. She is extremely committed to our students and an invaluable member of our team. We offer our highest recommendations of Brandie for this year’s Employee Spotlight Award.

Here’s what Brandi said winning the Employee Spotlight Award means to her:

"I feel honored being chosen for the Employee Spotlight and I truly appreciate my colleagues for nominating me. My favorite part of working at The Bay School/May Institute is getting to work closely with my coworkers to create a program or treatment plan to help our students. I also love getting to see the gains our students make after working with our incredible team for a period of time."
