May Institute Honors Ten Employees with Prestigious Exceptional Service Awards

Randolph, Mass. – Ten May Institute employees recently received Exceptional Service Awards during a recognition event at the organization’s corporate headquarters in Randolph. The awards are given annually by May’s Board of Directors to a select group of employees who are nominated by their peers and supervisors. 

May Institute is a national nonprofit organization that provides educational, rehabilitative, and behavioral healthcare services to autistic individuals as well as individuals with other developmental disabilities, brain injury, neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs. May Institute employs approximately 2,000 staff across the country. 

“The Exceptional Service Award is the highest honor we can bestow upon an employee,” said Lauren C. Solotar, Ph.D., ABPP, President and CEO of May Institute. “It was created by our Board of Directors more than 30 years ago to recognize employees from across the organization who exemplify May Institute’s ideals of service and professionalism.”

May Institute’s Exceptional Service Award recipients for 2024 are:

  • Nicole Barlow, Assistant Executive Director, May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, Randolph, Mass.
  • Michael Carlos, Facilities Manager, May Centers for Adult Services in Massachusetts and the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Randolph, Mass.
  • Morgan Downey, Teacher, May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, West Springfield, Mass.
  • Shavana Gilmer, Lead Instructor, May Center School for Brain Injury and Neurobehavioral Disorders, Norwood, Mass.
  • Lisa Leite, Program Coordinator, May Center for Adult Services, Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts
  • Andre McPherson, Program Coordinator, May Center for Adult Services, Western Massachusetts
  • Margarette Morency, Direct Support Professional, May Center for Adult Services, Eastern Massachusetts
  • Abigail Rix, Senior Program Director, May Center for ABA Services and Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention Program, Western Massachusetts
  • Rachel Vieu, Senior Human Resources Business Partner, May Center Schools for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, Chicopee and West Springfield, Mass.
  • Pamela Yung, Service Manager, Adult Day Habilitation Program, Revere, Mass.
