May Institute Earns Prestigious Marketing Communications Awards for May Center School Publication


Randolph, Mass. — May Institute, a national provider of services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other special needs, recently earned awards for its comprehensive marketing brochure for the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Wilmington, Mass. The organization was selected by both the New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo) and the Publicity Club of New England.

NESHCo recognized the new publication, written and designed by May Institute’s in-house Communications team, by awarding it first place in the publications category. The piece also earned top billing from the Publicity Club of New England in that organization’s digital or printed collateral category.

The Lamplighter awards were established to showcase and honor excellence in healthcare communication throughout the New England region. With more than 20 major categories and hundreds of entries each year, the Lamplighter awards truly recognize the “best of the best,” according to NESHCo.

“For nearly half a century, the Bell Ringer Awards have been honoring the best communications work in our region and inspiring practitioners who make it all possible,” said Cheryl Gale, president of the Publicity Club of New England. “What makes these honors all the more impressive is that they are bestowed by peers within our community who have judged the work to be worthy of these awards.”

“Our goal for this publication was to give parents a solid understanding of the breadth and depth of services at this very special school,” said Eileen G. Pollack, M.A., Senior Vice President of Communications for May Institute. “It has helped position the school as one of the premier programs in Massachusetts for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities. We’re pleased that it earned this recognition.”

Over the past decade, May Institute’s Communications team has won nearly 50 awards from NESHCo, the Publicity Club of New England, the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, and PR Daily in the following categories:
