Mary Tiernan Named Senior VP of Development at May Institute


Randolph, Mass. – Mary Tiernan [read her bio here] has been named Senior Vice President of Development for May Institute, a leading national provider of educational, behavioral, and rehabilitative services for individuals with special needs.
In her new position, Ms. Tiernan oversees national fundraising efforts for the organization’s programs and centers, including its four May Center Schools for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, the National Autism Center, the May Center School for Brain Injury and Related Disorders, and all adult services. In addition, she manages a Development team responsible for corporate and foundation relations, donor relations, strategic partnerships, leadership giving, direct mail, planned giving, and special events.

Ms. Tiernan is the former Chief Development Officer at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, has served as the Chief Operating Officer for The Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of Boston, and held leadership positions at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Bridgewater State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Simmons College.
