Randolph, Mass. – Matthew Riley, Psy.D, BCBA, has been named Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) of May Institute, a national nonprofit organization that serves autistic individuals as well as individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injury, and neurobehavioral disorders across the lifespan.
In his new position, Dr. Riley is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading clinical strategies across the organization, setting standards of care, and establishing and monitoring core outcomes for behavioral support, training, outreach, and research. He will be instrumental in implementing clinical standards, driving clinical strategic planning, and ensuring service fidelity and exceptional clinical supervision.
Dr. Riley holds a joint appointment as the Director of the National Autism Center at May Institute, dedicated to disseminating evidence-based information about the treatment of autism spectrum disorder, promoting best practices, and offering comprehensive and reliable resources for families, practitioners, and communities.
Dr. Riley most recently served as Senior Vice President of Education Services, overseeing our Randolph, Wilmington and Mansfield schools and developing and guiding educational initiatives for all May schools for autistic students and those with developmental disabilities.

Dr. Riley has worked with children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and emotional support needs for more than 15 years in residential, public, and non-public school settings, and in private homes. In the course of this work, he supported teams and families in the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior, skill development, and system-wide implementation of the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
His extensive background includes serving as Executive Director at The Timothy School, consulting across the Pennsylvania school system; roles as a behavior consultant, behavior mentor and behavior specialist; as well as experience running his own consulting business providing behavior analytic services for organizations that provide service to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2011, Matt holds a Doctor of Psychology from Immaculata University, a Master of Clinical Psychology from West Chester University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware.
Dr. Riley has served as adjunct faculty at Immaculata University, teaching course work in school psychology with a focus on assessment of children and adolescents. In addition, he has presented at many conferences and workshops over the course of his career.
