Dr. Ivy Chong Joins May Institute as Vice President of Home, School, and Center-based Services

Randolph, Mass. – Ivy Chong, Ph.D., BCBA-D, M.B.A., has been named Vice President of Home, School, and Center-based Services at May Institute, a national nonprofit organization that serves individuals across the lifespan with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, brain injury and neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs.

In her new position, Dr. Chong supervises the day-to-day operations of all May Institute’s home-based, school, and center-based programs, and ensures that services delivered are of the highest quality.

Prior to joining May Institute, Dr. Chong served as the Director of Autism Services and Training at the Scott Center for Autism Treatment in Melbourne, Fla. She was also an associate professor in the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts at Florida Institute of Technology.

“I am delighted to welcome Dr. Chong to our clinical leadership team,” said Ralph Sperry, Ph.D., ABPP, May Institute’s Chief Operating Officer. “She has specialized in the assessment and treatment of individuals with autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities for the past 20 years, and May Institute will benefit from her experience and expertise.”

Dr. Chong holds a doctorate in Psychology from Western Michigan University, specializing in behavior analysis, and is a doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). She earned an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management in 2016.

Her professional interests include early detection, diagnosis, and evaluation of autism, linking assessment to treatment, and development of training systems. Dr. Chong is on the editorial board for Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice, an APA online journal. She has served as guest reviewer for: Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis; Behavior Interventions; Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders; Journal of Organizational Behavior Management; and Behavior Analysis in Practice. In addition, she has presented at numerous conferences and maintained leadership roles on local and national boards.
