Randolph, Mass. – Lowell resident Ciara Shaughnessy, Senior Teacher at May Institute’s May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Wilmington, Mass., has received an Exceptional Service Award from May’s Board of Directors.
The award is given annually to a select group of employees who are nominated by their peers and supervisors. The nine recipients of the 2019 awards were recently honored during a ceremony at the organization’s corporate office in Randolph.
May Institute is a national nonprofit organization that provides educational, rehabilitative, and behavioral healthcare services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, brain injury and neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs. May Institute employs approximately 2,000 staff across the country.
The Exceptional Service Award is the highest honor given to an employee by the organization. It was created to recognize the contributions of staff members who epitomize the organization’s ideals of service and professionalism.
