May Institute Names Debra Blair Chief Operating Officer; Edward Follen Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Randolph, Mass. — May Institute has announced the appointments of two of its current executive leadership team members to new roles. Debra Blair, M.B.A., CMA, CPA, now serves as Chief Operating Officer, and Edward Follen, M.B.A., as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.

The national nonprofit organization serves individuals across the lifespan with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, brain injury and neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs.

In her new position, Ms. Blair oversees the day-to-day operations of all of May Institute’s services, including: private special education schools; home, school, and center-based services; adult services; and human resources. She holds a joint appointment as Chief Operating Officer for the National Autism Center at May Institute.

As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Mr. Follen is responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization. His responsibilities include capital and operating budgeting, financial planning and reporting, debt and treasury management, facilities, and information technology systems. He holds a joint appointment as Chief Financial Officer for the National Autism Center at May Institute.

Ms. Blair has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit finance and operations, serving educational, healthcare, and human service organizations in various capacities. Most recently, she served as May Institute’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.

Mr. Follen joined May Institute in 2018 as Senior Vice President of Administration and Finance. He has 34 years of finance experience with multi-location organizations. Prior to joining May, he was Chief Financial Officer at Riverside Community Care, Inc.
