08/11/17

Randolph, Mass. – The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation has awarded a $9,000 grant to May Institute to support a health and wellness initiative that will benefit children and young adults with special needs.

Through its global grants programs, the MDRT Foundation is committed to building stronger families and communities around the globe. This year, the MDRT Foundation will award over $1 million in MDRT member-endorsed grants to more than 200 charitable organizations worldwide. MDRT members Richard Harwood, CLU, CAP, and Lee Ann Fatalo, CFP, a member of May Institute’s Board of Trustees, presented this grant at May Institute’s corporate headquarters in Randolph, Mass.

“We are grateful to receive this support from the MDRT Foundation,” said Mary Tiernan, Senior Vice President of Philanthropy at May Institute. “Research shows that increased aerobic exercise can provide significant benefits to individuals with autism and other special needs. This grant supports our “MAY You Be Healthy” health and wellness initiative at May’s five special education schools in Massachusetts and California. MDRT Foundation funding allows us to purchase indoor and outdoor gym equipment to increase opportunities for physical activity for the children and young adults in our care,” Tiernan said.
