May Institute President Lauren Solotar Named “Woman of Influence” by Boston Business Journal

Randolph, Mass. — Lauren C. Solotar, Ph.D., ABPP, President and Chief Executive Officer of May Institute, was one of 23 women from the Boston business community recently honored as a “2015 Woman of Influence” by the Boston Business Journal.

Dr. Lauren Solotar joined the award-winning nonprofit organization in Randolph as Chief Psychologist and Vice President of Clinical Services in 1996. After many years of expanding responsibilities, she was appointed CEO in 2012. She took on the dual roles of President and CEO in 2013, making her only the second leader of the organization since its founding in 1955. Today, Dr. Solotar oversees a $115 million annual budget and nearly 2,000 employees spread across 12 states.

“Dr. Solotar developed a strategic plan of a comprehensive array of initiatives to ensure that May Institute develops to new heights,” adds Dr. Don Ricciato, former Board Chairman. These initiatives include: creating a workplace of choice; enhancing the quality of May Institute’s services; developing and implementing a clinical philosophy; developing a culture of accountability; establishing criteria for new services and growth; providing resources for technological advances and implementation; fostering a culture of philanthropy; and developing a Diversity and Inclusion Council and plan.
 
“It is my goal to provide the type of forward-thinking leadership necessary to continue to guide our very special organization successfully into the future,” said Dr. Solotar as she accepted her award. “One of our key strategic initiatives has been to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion through our Diversity and Inclusion Council and its mentoring program. This effort is helping us invest in the organization’s future by supporting and encouraging the next generation of leaders, many of whom are women from diverse backgrounds.”
