May Institute Appoints Q. Sophie Yang to its Board of Trustees

Randolph, Mass. —Q. Sophie Yang, MBA, a Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director at State Street Corporation in Boston, has joined May Institute’s Board of Trustees. State Street is one of the world's leading providers of financial services to institutional investors, including investment servicing, investment management and investment research and trading.

May Institute is an award-winning nonprofit organization that serves children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, brain injury, and behavioral health needs.

A senior investment professional with nearly 20 years of experience, Ms. Yang was an Investment Officer at John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston before joining State Street.

“Unbeknownst to the person who approached me about joining May’s Board, I am the parent of a child with autism who received services from May Institute,” said Ms. Yang. “I and my family were helped by many people along the way, and I felt that my life was profoundly touched by them and their willingness to help and lend a hand. I am so pleased to now be able to support May Institute and its talented staff by serving on the Board.”
 
Ms. Yang received her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hunan University in China, and her master’s degree in Business Administration from Boston College, Boston. She is a member and charterholder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute, a global association of investment professionals. She is also a member of the Boston Security Analyst Society.
