November was a particularly busy time for researchers at May Institute. The Annual New England PBIS Conference, co-organized by May Institute, is a regional professional conference that focuses on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). For more than 21 years, it has brought together educators, clinicians, and PBIS leaders from across New England to share practice-based strategies, research, and tools that support effective PBIS implementation.
This year, approximately 300 attendees participated in the conference, gaining opportunities to network, learn evidence-based approaches, and earn continuing education credits. Eleven May Institute clinicians, including Dr. Bob Putnam, SVP of PBIS and Consultation, contributed to the program by presenting their research and insights. Their presentations covered topics such as integrating and aligning PBIS frameworks, measuring and strengthening family engagement, and reducing the use of time out procedures in schools.
