Congratulations Traci DeMarco! - Celebrating 25 Years @ May

12/24/20

In 1995, Traci was hired as a direct care professional for May Institute’s first day habilitation program in Revere, MA. She had just graduated from college and had a strong desire to help others in the city she grew up in. There, she worked with many of the individuals that she still works with today. The relationships she has built with each individual over the past 25 years has been a meaningful bond for them and for Traci.

When Traci’s children were young, she transferred to residential services so she could be home with them during the day. Working in the residences gave her the opportunity to experience the home lives of the individuals and enhance the quality of services provided, as well as developing meaningful relationships with their families. Over the next several years, Traci dedicated her energy to the residential programs that she worked in as well as the day program. She worked hard and felt fulfilled by the time she spent with the individuals and found their happiness and success to be truly rewarding! She is now a Residential Director for the May Center for Adult Services (Eastern Mass.), overseeing 19 homes and more than 75 individuals.

“I’ve worked all different aspects of both day and residential services,” Traci says.” One of the things that makes me love being here is that it has always been a very positive and rewarding experience. Over the years, the truly wonderful staff that I’ve worked with have helped me to realize my goals of providing exceptional services to the individuals that we serve. I have had many individuals who came right out of Children’s Services and went straight into the day program with me – it is amazing to see how we have all grown together and gotten a little bit of gray hair together as well! They have become a part of my family as much as I have become a part of them with their families. I really do love every one of the individuals I serve – they are my family!”

“The May has been a great place to work and grow! Hard work has proven that there is room for professional growth and development within the agency.”
