Randolph, Mass. | May Center for Home-based and School Consultation

May Institute offers intensive in-home and family support services, and school consultation throughout Greater Boston and New England. Master’s- and Ph.D.-level staff, trained in the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), provide direct instruction, program support, and curriculum development for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, and behavior disorders. In addition, May Institute offers a variety of workshops and training for parents, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel.

Intensive Home-Based Services

  • 1:1 intensive instruction, 15-30 hours per week to young children with ASD
  • Supervised by a senior therapist and consultant
  • Based on the goals set by the child's IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan) or IEP (Individualized Education Plan)
  • Focus on development of language, social, and behavioral skills
  • Inclusion aide in classroom
  • Coordinated with early intervention and/or school team
  • Family Support Services (provided to families through the Department of Developmental Services/Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) include daily living, community and job searching skills, and parent training

School Consultation Services

  • Consultation on individual student as well as whole classroom curriculum development
  • IEP planning and functional analysis of interfering behaviors
  • Development of behavior support plans
  • Workshops and training
