Thanks to May Institute volunteers and Bass Pro Shops for partnering with us to provide more than 55 families with a Winter Wonderland experience that was friendly, sensitive, beautiful and welcoming to those in the autism community! 
 

Thank you for having this wonderful event. The boys probably wouldn't visit Santa if it weren't for you.

Our son had the best morning! He has never had such a great time as he did today, getting his picture taken! The Check in staff spoke directly to Matthew and knew how to get him chatting. Matthew even enjoyed making a few crafts! Santa took the time to listen and ask questions! The whole experience was amazing! Thank you so much for putting this event together!

By attending, each family:

• Enjoyed one of childhood’s favorite traditions in Bass Pro Shops’ annual Winter Wonderland before the store was open to the public. Wonderland was partially modified to decrease the likelihood that a child would feel overwhelmed or overstimulated
• Registered for a specific time to see Santa, so they did not have to worry about a long wait in line
• Were greeted by a patient Santa, who had experience with children and young adults with special needs
• Participated in sensory-friendly crafts and activities
• Left with a complimentary photo of their child with Santa
