Understanding Autism Treatment Options & Making Informed Treatment Decisions

Sponsored by May Institute in partnership with the Leominster Public Library

This free event is the second of a three-part lecture series — Autism Spectrum Disorders Across the Lifespan. This series gets right to the heart of the most pressing questions being asked about autism today, and what each of these issues looks like for children, adolescents, and adults.

While the content is especially relevant for families, we encourage educators, pediatricians, early intervention specialists, educational advocates, and child psychologists to also attend.  View full brochure here.

Megan Robinson Joy, Ph.D.
Regional Director, Home and School Consultation, May Institute

Description: In this presentation, you will learn about evidence-based treatments specific to the ASD population and the importance of evidence-based practice. Dr. Joy will also discuss what the treatment looks like at in the classroom, home setting, and in the community, as well as the important role of the family in the implementation of their loved one’s treatment plan.

This one-hour presentation begins at 6:30 pm and a question-and-answer period with the speaker will follow. Light refreshments will be provided.

Activities will be available for children of parents participating in the lecture.
