Join us for a new workshop by the Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) and The LINK Center at the Federation for Children with Special Needs. This workshop, presented by Jennifer Stewart, The LINK Center Project Coordinator, will describe the different systems to navigate after high school. The workshop will take place at our
May Center School for Brain Injury and Related Disorders in Brockton, Mass.
The training emphasizes how preparation during high school around a student’s vision, the age of majority, and the chapter 688 process are essential steps in the transition planning process. However, this workshop will mostly focus on providing information about the process for accessing and applying for services such as Social Security, Adult Services and Mass Health. Workshop participants will learn about resources in Massachusetts that connect individuals with disabilities to an adult life that includes: employment, transportation, housing, recreation and leisure.
The LINK Center is a new project at the Federation that assists families, professionals, and individuals with disabilities (ages 14 to 26) to access information, supports and services in order to achieve their future vision.
