Ethical Practices for Behavior Analysts

Part of the Educator and Behavior Analyst Continuing Education Seminar Series

Join us for this workshop, Ethical Practices for Behavior Analysts, that is part of our continuing education seminar series focusing on educational and behavior support applications. Conducted by May Institute professionals, the seminars will address practice standards, evidence-based methods, and research translation.

Presenter: Gary M. Pace, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Description: Most successful scientific and professional organizations have established ethical standards that guide one’s professional activities, and serve to increase the likelihood of the survival of the organization. The field of Applied Behavior Analysis, under the auspices of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), has published guidelines for responsible conduct.

The present seminar will review general ethical principles common to most professions that purport to “help” people. The primary focus of the seminar will be on review and discussion of the BACB ethical guidelines. Additionally several examples of ethical scenarios will be presented and discussed by the seminar participants.
