Experts on Autism Parent Training Series
“Zzzzzzzzz… Get Back in Your Own Bed!
How to Help Your Child Sleep Better (So You Can, Too)

Sponsored by May Institute in partnership with the National Autism Center

This free event is part of Experts on Autism—May Institute's 2012 Parent Training Series that explores a variety of topics related to autism. While the content is especially relevant for families, we encourage educators, pediatricians, early intervention specialists, and child psychologists to also attend.

Presenter: Nancy Gajee, M.A.
Clinician, May Counseling Center

Description:  Many children with autism spectrum disorders experience sleep disruption which can afect the entire family. In this workshop you will learn what “typical” sleep is and how to help your child learn to sleep better. We will review sleep onset problems, middle-of-the-night waking problems, and early waking issues. Participants are encouraged to share their own family’s experiences so that we can use real-life examples to learn how to identify specific problems and generate behavioral solutions.

Time: Presentations begin at 6:30 p.m. A typical evening will include a one-hour presentation, 30 minutes for questions and answers with the speaker, and time for networking opportunities.
