16th Annual New England Positive Behavior Support Forum

Sponsored by May Institute – Partner of the National Technical Assistance Center on PBIS


Given the recommendations by the CDC and our state health authorities, we have decided to hold our 2020 New England PBIS conference virtually. Our major goal is to protect the health and safety of our presenters, attendees, volunteers, and other participants.

Registration fee includes BACB and Psychology continuing education credits for specific sessions and certificate of attendance (if desired), and all course materials.

Keynote Speakers: 

Kent McIntosh and Susan Barrett will be our keynoters for the conference. The format will be tailored to the challenges and opportunities of connecting, learning, and supporting each other either virtually or in school contexts.


Title: How Do We Make PBIS Work for Each and Every Student?

Kent McIntosh, Ph.D., is the Philip H. Knight Chair of Special Education at the University of Oregon and Director of Educational and Community Supports, a research unit in the College of Education. His current research focuses on implementation and sustainability of school-based interventions, reducing racial discipline disparities, and integrated academic and behavior support. He is Co-Director of the Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and lead of the Center’s Equity Workgroup, as well as a founding member of the PBIS-SCP Canada Network and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Positive Behavior Support.

 

Title: Enhancing PBIS to Promote Resilience During Crisis by Susan Barett, Old Dominion University 

Mrs. Barrett serves as an Implementer Partner with the Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) at Old Dominion University. She assists with large-scale implementation of PBIS, partners with researchers to evaluate the impact of PBIS on students, school staff and school communities and serves on the Association of Positive Behavior Supports Board of Directors. She also co-leads the development of the Interconnected Systems Framework, a mental health and PBIS expansion effort. Susan has been published in the areas of large-scale adoption of PBIS, mental health, cost-benefit analysis, advanced tier system development, and adoption of evidence-based practices in schools.
