With every interaction with the individuals and families we serve, May Institute strives to find the ideal intersection of science and service.

Families know that their loved ones are in the hands of an organization that will improve life outcomes — both because of our relentless commitment to providing evidence-based services, and our compassionate, collaborative, respectful, person-centered approach to service delivery.

We know through research that intensive intervention during the early years results in the best prognosis and fosters success for children with autism. Our May Centers for ABA Services specialize in center-based applied behavior analysis therapy for young children. As demand continues to increase, we are expanding our capacity to provide this service in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Virginia.

faces, voices, lives

Thousands of people have been part of our journey over 65 years.  Among them are families and individuals served, employees, donors, board members, and an extended community. We are proud to share some of their stories through Faces, Voices, and Lives of May Institute.

Meet Juliana, a student at the May Center School for Brain Injury and Neurobehavioral Disorders. A class homework assignment inspired Juliana to share her journey about living with stress, hoping it would help support others. View more faces, voices, and lives.

gage, strong

After a tragic accident left him with a traumatic brain injury, this strong skater with big dreams had to begin again, re-learning how to walk and talk and skate. Today, Gage is back on the ice and giving back by helping other youngsters with traumatic injury.

We are honored that ABC Nightly News chose to share his story during an America Strong segment narrated by anchor David Muir.
