Traci DeMarco

Director of Residential Services,
Eastern Massachusetts, Adult Services


Traci was hired as a direct care professional for May Institute’s first day program in Revere, Mass., in 1995. Back then, she had a brand-new college degree – a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology – and a strong desire to help others. 

Today, she is a Residential Director for the May Center for Adult Services in Eastern Massachusetts, and still works with many of the individuals she first encountered at the Revere Day Habilitation program. 

When Traci’s children were young, she transferred to residential services so she could be home with her children during the day. Working residential gave her the opportunity to work more closely with the individuals and their families. Over the next several years, Traci dedicated her energy to the residential programs as well as the day programs. 

Her current responsibilities as Director of Residential Services include overseeing 21 residential programs, serving as a liaison between May Institute and all stakeholders, and ensuring that all licensing and certification requirements are met.

 “I’ve worked all different aspects of both day and residential services,” Traci says. “One of the things that makes me love being here is that it has always been a very positive and rewarding experience. I have had many individuals who came right out of Children’s Services and went straight into the day program with me – it is amazing to see how we have all grown together and gotten a little bit of gray hair together as well! They have become a part of my family as much as I have become a part of their families. I really do love every one of the individuals I serve.”
