Paula joined May Institute in 2015 as an Assistant Director at the Day Habilitation program in Easthampton, Mass. She has served as a Director of Residential Services in Western Massachusetts since 2018.
Paula began her career in Human Services in 2001, supporting adults with developmental disabilities as an employment services job coach at a sheltered workshop. While serving in this capacity, Paula found a passion for the work, the individuals served, and the hard-working and sincerely caring coworkers she encountered. Her previous experience in this field also included serving as Employment Supervisor at Riverside Industries, and Day Habilitation Coordinator at Hogan Regional Center for the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services.
In her current position, Paula manages 14 residential programs, working in collaboration with the Assistant Directors, the clinical team, Nursing, administrative staff, and Program Coordinators to ensure compliance with all state regulations, while also working to ensure the health and safety of residents. She helps individuals who live in Western Massachusetts residential programs create their best lives by providing meaningful engagement, community access and membership, opportunities for personal development, encouragement, and support.
