Joseph N. Ricciardi, Psy.D., BCBA-D, CBIST
Vice President, Professional Development and Training


Joseph Ricciardi has over 25 years of experience serving children and adults with developmental and neurobehavioral disabilities, brain injury, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders in a variety of settings: outpatient consultation, community residences, private schools, and hospitals.

In his current position, Dr. Ricciardi is responsible for overseeing May’s Doctoral Internship Program in Clinical Psychology; chairing the High Risk Review Committee; co-chairing the Research Steering Committee; coordinating the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Continuing Education Program and the Distinguished Speaker Series for May; and serving as a doctoral intern supervisor.

In addition, Dr. Ricciardi is a consulting psychologist for the May Center for Brain Injury and Neurobehavioral Disorders in Norwood, Mass., and the May Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Randolph, Mass.

He has authored/co-authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed research articles on psychopathology, behavioral intervention, and psychopharmacology. He has served editorial board assignments for several journals in the field and speaks regularly at local and national conferences. 

Dr. Ricciardi is a licensed psychologist, a certified brain injury specialist (trainer level), and a board- certified behavior analyst (doctoral level). He holds a Doctor of Clinical Psychology from William James College and a Master of Education degree from Harvard University. He completed his internship and post- doctoral fellowship (residency) at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
