Regional Team Leader
Eastern Massachusetts Home and School Consultation
Randolph, Mass.

Dan began his career at May Institute as a pre-doctoral intern. “Dr. Dan,” as some of his clients refer to him, provides outstanding technical assistance to schools and families in order to support children and young adults with significant challenges. He goes above and beyond in so many ways, but among his most significant contributions is the way he teaches individuals how to support skill acquisition, and implement safety plans and positive behavior support plans so they can be successful in accessing community experiences. He regularly contributes to internal program development for the Home and School Consultation division.

Dan is outstanding at program-wide consultation that helps schools and systems establish evidence-based interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. He consistently receives positive feedback from parents, advocates, educators, special education directors, and state coordinators as well as the staff he supervises.

“Dan is an extremely hard-working, dedicated team leader,” says Educational Consultant Lorianne Baker. “He sets an excellent example in his interactions with school staff and other professionals. With his busy schedule, he still takes the time to check in frequently and will listen to what is going on in my cases and give his feedback based on his extensive experiences.”

Educational Consultant Jason Shute says, “Dan is always willing to share his wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. He is patient, understanding, and takes time to listen. He is supportive and provides feedback in a constructive and useful manner and often goes out of his way into Maine or New Hampshire to provide support and supervision. He has a very technological and systematic, yet personal and supportive way in which he interacts with the students we serve.”
