Program Coordinator
Revere Division; Boxford Residence
Boxford, Mass.

Mike has worked for May Institute for more than four years as a Program Coordinator at a residential group home for adults with developmental disabilities. During this time, he has supported a broad array of people throughout the Adult Services division in a variety of ways. Mike has played a vital role in supporting his peers and has also been highly involved in helping various individuals succeed and meet their goals.

Mike is someone who can solve problems. He helps out wherever and whenever there is a need. Mike is always willing to step up and work with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors. In these situations, he has mentored less experienced staff, teaching them the most effective ways of interacting with these individuals.

Mike is a CPR/First Aid and Physical and Psychological Management (PMT) trainer and has filled in on short notice to conduct trainings in alternate locations. He has also helped coordinate special events such as annual cookouts and various parties.

Most importantly, Mike has made a lasting impact at the home that he oversees in Boxford, where he has been a very strong leader. He supports the individuals who live there by helping them enjoy a variety of activities including community outings, regular contact with their families, periodic vacations, volunteering opportunities, and exercise at a local YMCA. Mike has also been responsive to the needs of their families.

Mike truly deserves special recognition for the outstanding and unwavering support he provides to those he works with and for. He is someone you can truly count on.
