Courtney, Program Director of the May Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders in Atlanta, Ga., is a thoroughly dedicated and committed May Institute employee.

She is a very astute director and an effective business leader skilled in assessing what aspects of her business are in need of improvement. The Atlanta office has a unique business model with multiple funding sources including the military, insurance, and private pay. Staff members provide services in homes, at schools, and now, center-based services as well.

Courtney consistently seeks ways to meet her community’s need for services. She recently attended a number of family conferences and sent out surveys to determine family interest in additional services. As a result of this information, Courtney has introduced social skills groups to her families in the Atlanta area.

In the last year, she has also taken on the leadership of our Virginia office. She has been primarily responsible for its recruitment and hiring as well as its operation since the inception of the program. Courtney currently has two staff people in the Virginia area, and will be increasing services to match the demand there.

She is an exemplary employee both clinically and administratively. Her employees report that she is always available to them. Each employee reports that working for Courtney is one of the best parts of his or her job. They report that she runs a very organized office with sufficient clinical support and communication of policy and procedure.

Courtney constantly assesses the challenges she faces and accurately determines which ones need to be brought to her supervisor. This is a testament to her ability to effectively problem-solve and her ability to make appropriate decisions.

She is an essential May Institute team member, and dedicated to the highest quality service and support for her staff.
