Clinical Director
May Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders
Columbus, Ga.
Virginia ["Ginger"] joined May Institute in 2010 as a Behavior Analyst, and since that time she has developed tremendously both professionally and personally. Even as a new employee, she set an example of providing exceptional services that are firmly based in evidenced-based ABA therapy.
I knew I could trust her with our most difficult and challenging kids. When interventions were needed that had never been done before in our office, she did the appropriate research and created programs that were later used by clinicians in multiple May Autism Centers.
Last year, Ginger was promoted to Clinical Supervisor. She quickly exceeded my high expectations of leading our staff clinically by striving for quality services delivered at every level. She made suggestions to help standardize services throughout the division, and developed processes to make our office run more efficiently and effectively. Many of her ideas are now being used at other May ASD Centers.
This past spring, Ginger was promoted to Clinical Director in recognition of the amount of work that she has done above and beyond the responsibilities of a Clinical Supervisor. She is my “right-hand-man” in the Columbus office, and our office could not function smoothly without her. This fall, Ginger filled in as interim Program Director for the Columbus office during my maternity leave, and did a phenomenal job picking up those additional responsibilities.
The word “Ginger” has now become a noun used by other Directors and executives when describing either an ideal clinical counterpart to the Program Director position, or an employee who excels beyond expectations. I know how lucky I am to have her as my “Ginger,” and I am proud to nominate her for a Trustees’ Award.
